Deadly Premonition: Director's Cut, which is coming to PlayStation 3 on April 30, features new opening and ending cinematics — but strangely, none of the scenes that were originally cut from the game.
The intro shows an elderly woman reading a story to a young girl, and this cutscene precedes the opening sequence from the original Xbox 360 version. Siliconera noted that while the graphics look better, the character models appear the same. The new game also supports stereoscopic 3D.
Creator Hidetaka "Swery" Suehiro wants everyone to see the new ending, so he's included only one difficulty setting and has made combat easier. He also changed the controls: The right analog stick aims the gun, and players can remap the buttons. You can also use the PlayStation Move controller. The minimap is now expandable, so you can see more of the map while driving.
Luckily, the PS3 version doesn't alter the everyday activity and charm of the town.
