Death Stranding’s Hideo Kojima teases announcement that will ‘surprise everyone’

Death Stranding’s development is moving at a fairly fast pace and the game’s creator, Hideo Kojima, is promising an announcement that will surprise us all.

According to Kojima, the Death Stranding’s development is moving along fairly quickly. In fact, Kojima claims that Sony has never seen a game that has been developed so quickly.

Speaking with Dengeki PlayStation, Kojima confirmed that development on Death Stranding is ‘going well’ and that gamers can look forward to a surprising announcement in 2018.

“Development on Death Stranding is going well enough that [Sony Interactive Entertainment] told us, ‘We have never before seen a game being created at such a fast pace.’ We are planning an announcement that will further surprise everyone in 2018.”

Last year, Kojima confirmed that Death Stranding was ‘very close’ to going into full production. After the game went into full production earlier this year, The Game Awards brought us a look at new gameplay.

Death Stranding has been detailed by Kojima to be releasing prior to the 2020 Olympics and the announcement may be related to the game’s release. Of course, we won’t know what the announcement is until some point in 2018.
