Obviously hearing my complaint about lack of Christmas (and free sh*t) in Destiny, Bungie has revealed plans for some New Year's goodies.
"The season of giving is upon us, so here’s something to look forward to as you catapult into the holidays," Bungie said. "When we all return from a long winter’s nap, we’ll still be in the giving mood."
Similar to last year, Guardians will receive a small token of appreciation from Bungie. This year, it will come in the form of 15 Strange Coins and 15 Motes of Light, which Bungie says should arrive on January 7th.
"Think of it as a gift card you can use in the Tower, where the stores are always open and there is a never a line. Buy something nice from Xûr with those Coins, but don’t spend all your Motes to upgrade one item. See the Postmaster for your packages when the time comes – you may have to clear your backlog for them to appear."
Last year's gift was a random legendary class weapon with random perks.
In addition to the Strange Coins and Motes of Light, anyone who logs into Destiny between January 7th and January 10th will receive an exclusive yet-to-be-revealed Emblem. Anyone who qualifies will receive it on January 12th.
In the meantime enjoy the current event, Sparrow Racing League.
