Destiny: The Taken King's Black Spindle, a Year Two Exotic version of Black Hammer, is available again as the "Lost to Light" mission is today's Daily Heroic.
Unfortunately, after the latest patch, the Black Spindle isn't nearly as powerful as it once was. As Bungie had previously explained, Black Spindle's original 310 Damage was a bug and wasn't ever intended to have that much power. The latest patch reduced it to the intended 290. Despite the nerf though, it's still an effective sniper rifle for those in need of one.
As a reminder, to obtain the weapon there are a few prerequisites you must first meet. It basically involves making your way to the Ketch and, once there, clearing multiple rooms and killing the boss all in 10 minutes. Though it's not necessarily a complex process, it is difficult. There's actually a rather helpful guide posted to Destiny's subreddit which could help those of you struggling.
