Even though we're in the midst of The Queen's Wrath, Bungie is already looking ahead and giving us a taste of October's offerings for Destiny. On October 7, the day after The Queen's Wrath ends, the Iron Banner will begin.
For those unfamiliar, the Iron Banner will remove the automatic level balancing that's in place in the current Crucible playlist, meaning the abilities you've earned and the gear you've been farming for weeks will finally mean something in PvP. Level balancing is for bitches anyway. Time to put your big boy Guardian pants on.
"Champions are born in battle. Equip your most powerful gear and weapons. Prove your might and earn the respect of the Lords of the Iron. Their emissary waits int he Tower to reward those who excel," the description reads. Though it wasn't specified, the Iron Banner mode is also said to feature two unique maps: "Rusted Lands" on Earth, and Blind Watch, which takes place on Mars.
The Iron Banner will be available for one week, starting October 7 and available through October 14. Those competing in the special Crucible event will be rewarded (HA!) with Legendary Iron Banner Gear, Iron Banner Emblems, Shaders, and Ships. Let's be honest, though, Destiny is giving anyone any Legendaries.
