Destiny’s Queen Rank 3 rewards kind of suck

Grinding that reputation so you can get Queen Rank 3 before The Queen's Wrath event ends in Destiny? Well, you might just want to stop. Apparently, the Rank 3 rewards kind of suck. Admittedly, I'm only Rank 2, but a redditor by the name of "WilfordBrimley" in Destiny has posted the rewards.

"The only difference between rank 2 and 3 is that a few more rare guns show up to buy from her merchant," he informed those of us who just don't have to time to grind, bluntly adding, "and honestly, who gives a crap about rares?" And honestly, I'm in agreement with him — the only way to reach the highest possible level in Destiny right now is through Legendary and Exotic gear, so what's the point of wasting your time with all this Queen's Wrath crap?

"The rank 3 shader is hardly different from the rank 1 shader. It makes your pants purple and it may be a bit darker," he added. "Really disappointed."

In case you don't take his word for it, WilfordBrimley also posted screenshots of the actual rewards, confirming that they do, indeed, suck. Here's a screenshot of what the Queen's emissary will sell you, and here's another list of all the guns sold at Rank 3 with the Queen (with their stats).

I guess the one benefit is that when the weapons are fully leveled, the damage can reach 267 as opposed to the regular cap of 242 for a normal rare. Is that enough to sit there and convince you to waste hours upon hours of grinding rep for the Queen? By the time you reach Rank 3 you could have alread become Rank 3 for Vanguard or some other faction. Or you could have already gotten a Legendary weapon with 300 damage.

So basically, the Queen's Wrath is a major letdown. Yes, doing the missions for a few guaranteed Legendary items can be useful for upgrading your current rare items, but removing the Ascendant material rewards for dismantling your duplicate gear makes it kind of pointless after the first few runs. At least a new patch this week will somewhat fix the stupid loot system.
