As promised, Destiny's next big event — and the greatest challenge in-game to date — went live yesterday as The Vault of Glass opened at 2:00am Pacific (5:00am Eastern).
Although Bungie previously stated that only Guardians level 26 would be able to enter the raid, the developer later tweeted that you may be able to access the Vault of Glass before you actually reach that level. They don't recommend it, though.
"Bungie Specialists have confirmed that, while you may be able to access the Raid before you reach Level 26, such acts would be very foolish," Bungie said.
So if you aren't level 26, I'd suggest waiting since Vault of Glass isn't a limited time event anyway. "It will be available to you when you are ready," Bungie said. Although, the developer noted that the progress you make is only saved for one week. As Bungie explained, it's "very likely" that you won't finish the Raid in one sitting. If you choose to save your progress, you'll have one week to resume your mission where you left off with the same Fireteam leader.
Unfortunately, I'm not yet level 26 so I haven't run it yet. But for those who are curious, there's a bunch of others actually streaming the raid today. If you've already tried the new raid, let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Is it as tough as Bungie promised?
