Destiny: The Taken King breaks multiple day-one records

Despite all the flack Destiny has received for the past year, it didn't deter people from diving into the game's latest expansion, The Taken King. You'd think with all of the frustration throughout the past year coupled with the rather steep price of the expansion(s), people would have approached The Taken King with caution. After all, like the wise George Bush once said, "Fool me onceā€¦"

Words of wisdom be damned though.

Activision announced today multiple new records set by the launch of The Taken King, including the record for the most downloaded day-one game in PlayStation history. The Taken King even set its own day-one franchise benchmark for total players and peak online concurrency, surpassing the original Destiny launch day last September, which was itself the biggest new game franchise launch in history. Specific numbers weren't revealed.
