Destiny’s second year of content will overhaul how Guardian strength is defined, starting with The Taken King.
A totally revamped Light system is the headlining act, which you can find the details on here. On its heels comes a statistical breakdown of your character’s stats. The Discipline, Strength and Intellect points from your gear will unlock tiered cooldown reductions, rather than a vague percentage.
Class items will play a part in this. Existing armor slots provide the bulk, but Hunter cloaks, Warlock bonds and Titan marks will boost both Light level and individual stats. Class items will also have unique skill trees sporting upgrade-enhancing abilities. The Warlock bond pictured above, for instance, offers an increase to Machine Gun experience.
Equippable Ghosts, meanwhile, offer gathering-centric abilities focused on Glimmer and upgrade materials. They will also feature defensive skills such as increased elemental resistances. Ghost shells will be available via the Tower's Speaker and vendors, but will also drop from enemies and activities.
