Third-person shooter game Devil’s Third is expected to launch on consoles in 2014 despite not having a publisher, this according to Tomonobu Itagaki.
Itagaki, who’s known as the creator of the Dead or Alive series, added in an interview with 4Gamer that the game is currently 80 percent complete.
“Next year will be the year we’ll be releasing the console game, Devil’s Third,” said Itagaki. “At the moment, it is about 80 percent complete, and we can about see the end of it. However, there’s still a little more polishing that needs to be done. That’s also one of the reasons I’ve decided to work independently.”
Itagaki left publisher Tecmo more than five years ago, and has had somewhat of a bumpy ride working on Devil’s Third with former members of Team Ninja.
“For you fans out there, I’d like to apologize for making you worry,” he added. “We’ll be going all out next year, so please look forward to it.”
Currently, Devil’s Third is expected to drop on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, iPad, Android, and Surface.
