Disney announces Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two for the Wii U

In a surprise announcement, Disney Interactive confirmed Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of 2 will be released for the Wii U system. Up until today, Disney has only shown or talked about the game for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii.

“It’s exciting to bring Nintendo fans Disney Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two on Nintendo’s revolutionary new game system,” said Bill Roper, vice president and general manager of production, Disney Interactive. “The technological advances of the Wii U system have allowed us to enhance player direction and provide our fans with an immersive as well as unique gaming experience.”

The Wii U GamePad will allow you to see the fully detailed, real-time map of Wasteland with waypoints and markers to guide you through the game and complete different quests. The GamePad will also be used to access sketches and activate the sketches to use in-game for a more "immersive experience".

The Wii U version of Epic Mickey 2 is being developed by Heavy Iron, the America video game studio who also brought us Family Guy: Back to the Multiverse and UFC Personal Trainer along with a ton of other Disney-related games. It is expected to arrive this "holiday season", although it wasn't said whether or not it would be a launch title when the Wii U releases on November 18th.
