Disney debuts first official image for Finding Dory at D23

We have been waiting for any tidbit of information on Finding Nemo's sequel for quite a long while, you could say that we have been waiting for it since the film released in 2003. Well, Disney has finally given us a drop of information — the reveal of the first official look at Finding Dory.

Upon Disney's official announcement of the film in 2013, Ellen DeGenerous revealed that she would not only be reprising her role as Dory, but that the script was 'fantastic':

I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time. I'm not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: It's got a lot of heart, it's really funny, and the best part is—it's got a lot more Dory.

Finding Dory is set six months after the end of Finding Nemo, when Dory recalls her childhood memories – specifically something about "the jewel of Monterey, California." Nemo, Marlin and Dory set out to find her family, meeting friends along the way — we can expect her to get lost around this point!

Finding Dory is scheduled to be released on June 17, 2016.
