Ditch the bike, you’ll be soaring in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire

Admittedly, taking to the skies and flying in Pokémon is not new, but soaring through them is entirely new.

What's the difference between flying and soaring? Flying is a form of fast travel, you pop from one point on the map to the other. Soaring, however, will allow your to freely fly across the map — visiting any location you wish.

Soaring will be very similar to the way you explore the field on foot. There will be battles, you can discover new locations and even reach previously inaccessible places. Soaring won't be allowed with just any Pokémon, it's limited to Latias or Latios. Pokémon Omega Ruby holds Latios and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire holds Latias, but Nintendo is looking to release an 'Eon Ticket' later this year so you can gain access to the other.
