It's been 282 days since Grand Theft Auto Online has been released, and there are still no playable heists in the multiplayer portion of GTA 5. How do I know this? Because a new fan-created website, aretheheiststhereyet.com, reminds me that "Rockstar has not released the heists yet."
That's pretty much the only function of the site as far as I can see. I'm assuming when heists do arrive in GTA Online the site will be changed to "Yup."
For those unfamiliar, Heists are more elaborate story missions in the single player portion of GTA 5. Each requires careful preparation, as players are presented with options on how to approach the proposed mission. Once you have clear objectives you must perform a series of sub-missions before tackling the bigger job. Heists were some of the best moments in GTA 5's campaign, so it's understandable why fans want them in the multiplayer. It's not hard to imagine how fun pulling off an elaborate heist with a group of buddies would be.
Unfortunately, it looks like we'll be waiting at least a bit longer for heists in GTA Online. Back in June, Rockstar provided a brief statement on the delayed release of heists, which were originally supposed to be implemented in the spring. "We are very sorry fo rthe delay, and are working hard to bring them to you as soon as we can," Rockstar said. "Please know that we are focused as always on making the best possible content for you to play and we are thankful to all of you for your patience, understanding and support."
We don't know when heists will finally be implemented into GTA Online, but until then we'll have this user site reminding us how long we've waited.
