Don’t Miss the MLG Summer Fighter Arena this Friday

MLG Fighters

This Friday, Major League Gaming is hosting the Summer season's Fighter Arena featuring the top eight from the Spring Championships in both Soul Calibur V and Mortal Kombat. In what's sure to be some fierce competition, these elite players will face off in a round robin style tournament before a semi-final and final round to decide who's really the best around – or to use a popular FGC term, a run back. Each tournament will be for $3,400 in cash for the winner, in addition to room and board for all entrants.

The broadcast will feature two streams: the gameplay stream hosted by Juicebox, with Tom Brady providing the main casting for Mortal Kombat, and Bibulus for Soul Calibur V and the Dr Pepper Ultimate Access stream hosted by Gootecks, showcasing behind-the-scenes coverage and interviews all weekend long.

Players include:

Mortal Kombat:

Pool A                                                              Pool B

(1) – DJT1993                                                  (2) – PerfectLegend

(4) Pig of the Hut                                         (3) – EGPTyrant

(5) – GGA_Dizzy                                            (6) – GGA16Bit

(8) – riu48                                                        (7) – vVvREO

Please note: DetroitBalln and CDjr were both invited to the event but unfortunately cannot attend. Too bad, they’re both really fun players to watch.

Soul Calibur V:

Pool A                                                              Pool B

(1) – Keev_                                                     (2) – Kayane

(4) – rtd_atl                                                     (3) – LostProvidence

(5) – Something-Unique                            (6) – _Hawkeye

(8) – Kinetic_Clash                                       (7) -Linkrkc

These events are always great because they give you time to really get to know the competitors and their back stories a little better than the break neck pace most fighting game tournaments have, since most matches are so fast and there are so many entrants. The action kicks off at 4:00 EST with Soul Calibur V, available for free up to 480p, with an upgrade available to 720p and near instant access to VODs – you can check out the full schedule below.
