Dragon’s Crown brings more of Vanillaware’s beautiful animation this summer

Few games are as beautiful as Vanillaware's, which feature colorful 2D sprite-work that moves and "breathes" onscreen.

The developer's highly anticipated next title, Dragon's Crown, is arriving this summer for PlayStation 3 and PS Vita. Publisher Atlus announced the news today. The side-scrolling action game enables four-player co-op multiplayer locally through drop-in or the adhoc network. Cross-platform play is not a supported feature, however.

Players can choose from six characters: the Fighter, the Dwarf, the Amazon, the Wizard, the Elf, and the Sorceress. Each possesses a special skill or strength. The Sorceress, for example, uses ice magic and can summon skeletons to assist in battle. In addition, skills trees provide ways for players to improve health and abilities.

Dragon's Crown will cost $49.99 for PS3 and $39.99 for PS Vita. Vanillaware previously released titles such as Odin Sphere, Muramasa: The Demon Blade (which is coming to PS Vita as Muramasa Rebirth), and Grand Knights History.
