Driveclub PS Plus Edition still on hold as new update optimizes matchmaking

Three weeks later after its release, developer Evolution Studios is still working to improve Driveclub's online experience. And it looks like things are starting to improve.

Sure, PlayStation Plus members still can't download the free PS Plus Edition, but diagnostics are starting to show that "the majority" of players who purchased the retail version are now able to get online and racing. Should things continue to improve, it would mean that the PS Plus Edition, which is currently on hold, should be available soon — at least that's what I'm hoping. Evolution Studios did not yet respond to the numerous gamers asking about it.

As for what this "increased stability" means for actual players, Evolution Studios said that "statistics and accolades are updating efficiently now, so hopefully you have been having fun boosting your fame and watching how you compare to your friends and other racers around the world."

A new server update was released today which optimized multiplayer matchmaking, "so you will now be matched with more suitable players based on the type of internet connection you have, which means matchmaking should be more reliable." It also fixes a few bugs with the clubs where some players couldn't join or leave a club.

Evolution Studios promised that the next "significant" game update will be released this week. It will boost connectivity and provide "a better overall experience."
