As promised, Techland today released a collection of free content and gameplay updates for Dying Light, the developer's first-person, parkour-infused zombie action game. The latest content pack is completely free for all players and is loaded with extra outfits, new weapons, gameplay tweaks, and the eagerly-awaited Hard Mode.
As detailed last month, Hard Mode tweaks the gameplay of Dying Light, ramping up nighttime difficulty, adding deadlier and more vicious foes, and reducing the amount of supplies and resources, making it more imperative that you rely on stealth and silence to get around the quarantine zone.
The update also adds an additional tier to weapon rarity level, extra rewards for completing the game, more character outfits, and dozens of new weapons. Patch 1.4 will also offer various improvements to the game's performance, gameplay balance, online functions, and visual fidelity.
The new Hard Mode Patch is available to download right now on all platforms in North and South America. It will arrive on Xbox One and PC for the rest of the world tomorrow, March 11, and on PS4 on March 14.
Also released today is the Ultimate Survivor Bundle DLC, the second content drop of Dying Light's Season Pass. With it, comes a collection of unique items to the quarantine zone, including blueprints for four "one-of-a-kind" weapons: The Constable, the Night Club, Lacerator, and Buzz Kill. The DLC also comes with three "distinctive" character outfits: the Ninja, Urban Explorer, and Special Agent. Although the Ultimate Survivor Bundle is part of the Season Pass, fans can opt to purchase it as standalone DLC for $4.99.
The third and final DLC included with Dying Light's Season Pass — The Bozak Horde — will drop in May and deliver a new map and wave-based gameplay mode, playable in single-player and co-op.
