Sony today announced the direct sequel to Dead Island, Dead Island 2, which will be coming to both PS4 and Xbox One and presumably PC (only PS4 and XOne have been confirmed, but given the original's platforms PC seems likely).
The reveal trailer has taken a page out of Sunset Overdrive’s book and shows a distinct change in style and aesthetic. In contrast to the gritty realism of the original, Dead Island 2 is cartoony in both appearance and theme with zombies roller-skating about and literally sprinting down the street.
