Despite rumors, Nintendo has no plans to reveal new hardware at E3 2014 next month. On Thursday, reports suggested the company would announce a new platform, or a new iteration of a current platform, sometime during event; however, a Nintendo representative has confirmed to CVG that the rumor is not true.
A new hardware reveal is "not under consideration," the website reports.
Nintendo is once again skipping a traditional E3 press conference, instead opting for a "Digital Event." Building off its Nintendo Direct broadcasts, the Nintendo Digital Event is "a new kind of program that will reveal and provide further detail about the gaming experiences on the way for Nintendo platforms in 2014 and beyond."
The Nintendo Digital Event is set to air at 9:00am PT on Tuesday, June 10.
