Motion capture has become a popular tool for creating authentic experiences in video games recently. However, Dead Island 2 developer Yager has taken it to a whole new level.
In an E3 closed-door, hands-off demo of Yager's upcoming zombie title, the developer mentioned a unique mo-cap experience — so unique that it's never been done before in a video game.
"We are actually the first game to ever motion capture a real cat," a Yager represenative said.
The cat? Its in-game name is Rick Furry, the — well — furry companion of Max, the character who delivers the main story.
We were not told the name of the cat in real life, but we're sure it did a "purrrrrrfect" job.
