EA Sports announced during their E3 Play event that gamers can expect a variety of new features in FIFA 17, with the game's new story mode creating a huge buzz.
'The Journey' – as it's called in the game – was unveiled along with a brand new trailer, but many fans still had some questions about the new feature.
During a recent interview with GameReactor, EA Sports' Creative Director Matthew Prior, talked about the things we can expect from The Journey, changes from last year's game and much more.
He said: "You are locked to the character of Alex Hunter in The Journey, and the reason we did that is we wanted to maintain the immersion and the visual fidelity we could only really do with a locked character. If you want to create a player we still have Be a Pro player mode, The Journey is not a means to replace it."
We have already been given some information as to how decisions we make in The Journey will have a knock-on effect later in our in-game careers, but Prior has revealed an even deeper insight.
"The questions that you answer throughout The Journey will have a cause and effect, so that under the hood is driving a personality. So if you answer all fiery questions, you will become a fiery personality, and that will manifest itself on the pitch. So you'll see how he reacts to being tackled, that will change.
"It will also drive certain content. So if you're the fiery guy you might see certain scenes and experience different things that if I was the calm guy, I wouldn't. So everything is kind of cause and effect within the mode. Every choice you make, both on and off the pitch, drives The Journey differently," he added.
