EA's E3 press conference just wrapped up and boy… was that a thing. We were treated to many things like FIFA, Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2, and an assortment of other things but the one thing almost everyone tuned in for around the world was Star Wars. Many of us were expecting EA to revive the long dead Star Wars 1313 or announce some new Star Wars games but neither of those things really happened.
Jade Raymond walked out on stage to talk about the future of Star Wars at EA and showed a bevy of developers that will be working on Star Wars titles. Developers like Respawn Entertainment, Visceral, Criterion, DICE, Motive, and many more are all working on Star Wars games across a wide variety of genres. The only game Jade Reymond gave a name to was Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and it's supposedly coming next year.
She then went on to present a video of a bunch of developers working on mysterious unnamed projects with little gameplay. Basically, to sum up the video there are a bunch of people who love Star Wars making games they aren't ready to talk about and most of the internet is sitting here shrugging because we don't know what to expect from the future of Star Wars truthfully.
There is still a whole week of E3 left so Sony or Microsoft could present one of the massive Star Wars titles but it's pretty unlikely. The small pieces of gameplay we do see in the video do look pretty neat, but we have no real context as to what any of it is. On the brightside, it does look like we may be getting a VR flight sim game set in the Star Wars universe if the small piece of footage of a man wearing a PSVR headset while in the cockpit of a Star Wars ship is anything to go off of!
