Early version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds running at 30-40FPS on Xbox One X

Last month at E3, Microsoft announced that the ultra-popular PC game, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, will be coming to the Xbox One this fall. With the PC version's official release, i.e. out of Steam's Early Access, having been delayed, it's uncertain if the Xbox One version will actually arrive in 2017 in any form, be it Game Preview (Microsoft's version of Steam's Early Access) or final release.

Despite delays, it appears that some progress is being made on the game. Brendan Greene (aka PlayerUnknown himself) revealed the state of the Xbox One X version in an interview with Eurogamer.

"We have a version running on the Xbox One X prototype in the office which can plug into the online servers. We were playing on live servers on the console at about 30 or 40 FPS. So it works on 100 man servers."

The PC version currently runs at 60fps, while also running at 4K resolution, but it requires powerful hardware to make it happen. Considering the Xbox One X is touting that it's the most powerful console ever made, it's a little surprising that the devs over at Bluehole can only get 30-40fps on the same 100 man servers as its PC counterpart.

Greene has said before that right now the team's (Bluehole) primary goal is getting the PC version finished, while a smaller, 5-man team (Anticto) is working on the console version. So with the PC version's retail or final release being delayed, I think it's safe to assume the Xbox One (S and X) version is not going to make it this year.
