Two League of Legends pro teams — Evil Geniuses and Team Curse — in a partnership with eBay will be competing in a tournament that will raise money for a charity that the winner chooses. The name of the tournament is the eBay Charity Invitational.
Players from both teams will compete in one-on-one matches in a bracket format. Participating in the tournament from Evil Geniuses are Mike "Wickd" Petersen, Henrik "Froggen" Hansen, Peter "YellowPete" Wuppen and Mitch "Krepo" Voorspoels. Participants from Curse are Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani, Edward "EDward" Abgaryan, David "Cop" Roberson and Chenglong "NyJacky" Wang.
The eBay Charity Invitational will feature auction on PC gaming equipment and collectibles from past eSports events. Some of the featured auctions are CM Storm Quickfire keyboard, Succeed's Logitech G400 mouse, Razer Abyssus and Commemorative Pulsefire Ezreal, the first three as signed items.
eBay has pledged a $5,000 donation if users put listings using the new "My Gadgets" feature. My Gadgets lets users track the worth of their electronics, and then helps them sell it for a competitive price. Every item tournament viewers list on "My Gadgets" adds another $0.50 to the charity donation on top of the $5,000 pledge. Also, the item you list doesn't have to sell; merely listing it will add the 50-cent donation. Also, 100% of the sales for the featured items will be added to the charity pool
You can watch the tournament on Wednesday, July 24 at 8 p.m. ET, which will be livestreamed on Twitch by One Nation of Gamers.
