Since Disney bought the rights to Star Wars, they have announced 6 movies, most of which are untitled at this point. Three are part of the "main story" and make up a new trilogy, the other three are spin-off films that help fill the major universe with more story! Two of those spin-off films have been revealed as two standalone stories, Rogue One, a movie about stealing the plans for the Death Star before the assault in A New Hope, and a young Han Solo movie which has no real details yet.
The third movie, however, is a mystery! Many have speculated that it could be a Boba Fett film or even an Obi-Wan film set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope! Ewan McGregor, the actor who played the iconic character in the prequel trilogy, seems pretty onboard with this idea too!
In an interview with Comicbook.com, the actor spoke about his broad pitch for the film. “I’ve always thought there was a story to tell between my last one and Alec Guinness’ first one". He also acknowledges the fact that the timing would be right! "It would be fun to film that story now I’m older. I’d be the right age. I’m forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them!”
He seems to be pretty big on the idea, mentioning that the films could even expand into other genres. “I hope that they’re going to explore different genres under the Star Wars banner. And one of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!”
Would you like to see McGregor return as Obi-Wan or would you rather see another film take the place of the unknown third movie? Let us know in the comments below
