Expect Cyberpunk 2077 DLC to be as massive as Witcher 3’s

This deal is getting better all the time!

A new piece of info about the highly-anticipated action-RPG Cyberpunk 2077 gives us more insight into the game’s post-launch content. In an investor talk, the developer CD Projekt RED confirmed that their upcoming title will receive large and meaningful DLC that is going to be comparable to the DLCs that their breakout hit The Witcher 3 got.

The news comes via VG247 who translated the investor talk which was held in the studio’s native Polish language. According to it, studio president Adam Kiciński states that his team plans to create DLC for Cyberpunk 2077. That much was almost a given with both how AAA games have been going for a long time and especially how CD Projekt RED has treated their projects.

“We’ve learnt from that and that is the strategy for how we’ll apply DLC to Cyberpunk as well. We’ll look to take what we’ve learnt from Witcher 3 and apply that.
With Witcher 3 the game got better with quality of life updates for the community as well, like how we improved the UI and things like that.” – Level designer Max Pears via VG247

More interesting is that the developer plans to create at least content at least equivalent or bigger than the two large expansions for The Witcher 3. Anyone who played The Witcher 3 is likely drooling right now since Heart of Stone and Blood and Wine are among the most revered pieces of DLC for any game. Period. Those DLCs gave players dozens upon dozens of high-quality story campaigns alongside new areas, enemies and NPCs.

During the current Coronavirus pandemic, this news is like a shining beacon of light for gamers who have been hit hard by continuous game delays. CD Projekt RED themselves already commented on the situation with regard to Cyberpunk 2077’s slated September launch and reassured fans that despite shifting to work from home, they are confident to bring the game into gamers’ hands in five months.
