Fallout 4 is real and shipping up to Boston, according to leaked documents

That Fallout 4 teaser site may have been a hoax, but newly leaked documents suggest that the next installment of Bethesda's post-apocalyptic RPG is, indeed, in the works. Furthermore, it's set in Boston, Massachusetts, as previously rumored.

The new report comes via Kotaku, which acquired multiple casting call documents including scripts, character descriptions, and other various details. Interestingly, the documents don't actually mention Fallout anywhere, only referencing a project code-named "Institute." However, the contents make reference to Fallout's setting and locations.

For example, the opening page begins with "War. War never changes," a well-known line in the Fallout series. Other documents reference the Commonwealth — what's left of Massachusetts — which is mentioned in other Fallout games, but never actually shown. A mission set in the Institute — Fallout's post-apocalyptic version of MIT — is also spotted.

As Kotaku points out, while the documents seem to confirm a new Fallout is in the works, many of these details could have been changed over the course of development. So for now, treat this as a rumor, but things are looking good for Fallout fans.
