At QuakeCon 2015 today, Bethesda announced that Fallout Shelter, a new, free-to-play mobile game inspired by Bethesda's Fallout franchise, will be released on Android next month on August 13th.
Fallout Shelter, Bethesda's first venture in the mobile space, has become a surprise hit since its release last month on iOS, but unfortunately Android users have had to wait. That wait is almost over.

Like the iOS version, Fallout Shelter will be free on Android. For those unfamiliar, the game is a mix of SimCity, XCOM, FTL, and This War of Mine, putting you in control of a Vault. As Overseer, it's your job to ensure the survival of your fellow Vault dwellers, keeping them happy, managing resources, and exploring the post-apocalyptic world outside.
Accompanying the Android version's release next monthw ill be a new update that adds Mr. Handy, Deathclaws, and Molerats. Last month, an update to the game added new Legendary Dweller Preston Garvey of the Commonwealth Minutement. He is the first character from Fallout 4 to arrive in the mobile game.
In related news, Bethesda also announced this week Fallout Anthology, the definitive PC collection that features all five critically acclaimed games from the Fallout franchise (and their add-ons) all bundled in an exclusive mini-nuke storage case.
