Ubisoft has released a new trailer showing off Far Cry 3's robust in-game map editor which lets you create, share and download new content for free.
In the video, level design director Mark Thompson walks us through the map editor and its many features that let you mold the environment you fight in. The creative choices range from landscape pieces such as waterfalls to the 2,000-plus themed objects available at your disposal.
Once created, you can publish the map, taking community feedback to improve upon it. If you reach the gold-tier status you can see your map appear alongside official Ubisoft content, giving players an infinite source of content to play in.
Lastly, Thompson talks about the new single-player sandbox mode which lets you populate your creations with a variety of gameplay elements such as vehicles, wildlife, and some AI.
Far Cry 3 is set to release in North America on December 4, 2012. I can't wait to see the insane things players create.
