F. Gary Gray has confirmed via Twitter that he will direct Universal's Furious 8. Speculation that the Straight Outta Compton director would helm the next installment of Unversal's popular action franchise was raised when actor Vin Diesel posted a photo of himself and Gray on his Facebook page.
Preproduction on Furious 8 is already underway, with the entire cast from Furious 7 expected to return. Production is planned to begin in April.
