Today, Ubisoft released a trailer showing gameplay footage for Splinter Cell Blacklist's multiplayer mode, Spies vs. Mercs. In this iconic asymmetrical multiplayer mode, players take on the roles of either spies or mercenaries as they face off against each other. Light and shadow are very important, as spies are better in dark areas, while the heavily armored mercs, equipped with powerful weaponry, are better in the light.
It looks like both sides are getting some special abilities, too. It shows four spies decloaking on an enemy, while a mercenary uses a drone to take out a spy.
Splinter Cell Blacklist releases August 20 on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PC and Wii U.
