Final Fantasy 15 Update on PS4 Pro Out Now, Improves A Lot

The PS4 Pro version of Final Fantasy 15 has been discussed by the team at Square Enix for a while now and the actual update was released today. The game's update improves things like frame rates and more.

The patch also introduces limited-time quests and a new level cap of 120. Pictures can also be taken with Prompto's camera and you can listen to music while riding Chocobos, further completing the bros-on-a-road-trip vibe of Final Fantasy 15.

Square Enix hasn't confirmed the resolution of frame rate for the new patch, but their goals initially called for two modes: One at 1080p 60 FPS and one at 4K at 30 FPS. More testing would need to follow, but we do know that the frame rates are noticeably increased.

Additionally, the Booster Pack+ DLC launched today as well. This expansion includes some items like Ragnarok (1-handed sword), Dragon Drain (A fishing rod that slows fish down), and Avior (A reel that pulls fish in with greater strength).

Recently, Square Enix discussed their thoughts on virtual reality and a PC port of Final Fantasy 15. They've also talked about their eventual plans for FFXV on project Scorpio and even their thoughts on the Nintendo Switch.
