Square Enix rereleased Final Fantasy 8 on PC today via Steam.
This version of the role-playing game, which works on Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8, features a magic booster accessible from the launcher. A single use increases the player's inventory of select spells by 100.
The rerelease also includes "Chocobo World," a chocobo minigame that was previously released as a separate application. Players can start it from the launcher after completing certain conditions in Final Fantasy 8, which enable data synchronization between the two.
Final Fantasy 8 debuted on PlayStation in 1999 and then appeared on PC in 2000.
