Square Enix CEO Yoichi Wada has denied via Twitter that Final Fantasy Versus 13 is canceled.
He mentioned that he had just attended a periodic meeting for the game, praising the superior quality of the cityscape.
Wada is responding to a rumor from last week that the game, a sister project to Final Fantasy XIII and FF Type-0, was no longer in production. Several sources reported that Square Enix was avoiding a public announcement to safeguard stock prices, which would likely drop with the news. They also indicated that resources and development for the game had folded into the next numerical entry in the series, Final Fantasy XV.
Final Fantasy Versus 13 has been in development for over six years, and has been a no-show at recent press events.
