When Fire Emblem: Fates was revealed for a North American and European release during E3 2015, it was unclear whether or not the game would be releasing in a similarly to the Japan version's launch. The game, titled Fire Emblem If in Japan released with two versions, White Kingdom and Black Kingdom.
Each version of the game featured two halves of the game, with different maps and challenge levels. Whichever story wasn't featured in one game was available as DLC for the alternate version.
While it is still unclear if the DLC-story option will be available in the West, it has been made clear that the game will release with two version in North America and Europe. The two versions for Fire Emblem: Fates are titled Conquest and Birthright, both games are available for pre-order on Amazon for $39.99.
No release date has been revealed, but it will be releasing in 2016 on the 3DS.
