Since E3, Microsoft hasn't talked much about the Halo game that was announced for Xbox One. There was a very brief, very vague trailer, but that was about it. All we really know about it is that Microsoft does not want to refer to the game as Halo 5; instead, choosing to describe it as "the next Halo game that we are working on."
However, thanks to some sort of mix-up on the Microsoft Store, we now have what seems to be the first bit of story details for the highly anticipated game. Although the listing has been removed, AllGamesBeta managed to snag a screen grab. The product blurb reveals, "Halo for Xbox One takes the now legendary saga to new heights and is one of the most anticipated games for the new console.
"In possession of a mysterious data chip, Petty Officer John-117, aka Master Chief, confronts a new battery of challenges and tests in a Herculean effort to stay alive in a galaxy where sentient life is mercilessly hunted," a description reads.
"Pre-order the next chapter in the wildly popular Halo series designed exclusively for Xbox One."
The product listing also confirms a 2014 release date, noting: "Your journey begins with Halo on Xbox One in 2014."
