The first trailer for Quentin Tarainto's The Hateful Eight was released today, and it's filled with all sorts of badassery. The trailer is more of a teaser, setting the stage for the film, which is set "six or eight or twelve years after the Civil War."
The film follows bounty hunter John Ruth (Kurt Russell) as he travels through snowy Wyoming with fugitive Daisy Domergue (Jennifer Jason Leigh) towards the town of Red Rock. It is there where Ruth, known as "The Hangman," will bring Domergue to justice. However, things get a little complicated when they meet two strangers: Major Marquis Warren (Jackson), a black former union soldier turned infamous bounty hunter, and Chris Mannix (Goggins), a southern renegade who claims to be the town’s new Sheriff. But wait, it gets more complicated when a blizzard forces them to seek refuge at Minnie's Haberdashery, a stagecoach stopover on a mountain pass. It's there where they meet four unfamiliar faces.
The trailer is brief, but The Hateful Eight is clearly shaping up to be a wild ride in which the film's starpower will surely shine.
The Hateful Eight will debut in select theaters on December 25, 2015, before its worldwide release on January 8th, 2016.
