Forza Motorsport 6 to abandon microtransactions

Gone baby, gone!

In Forza Motorsport 5 you had the ability to purchase any car you wanted with real money and leveling driver rank did not gift you any cars (you had the option to win tokens after grinding for hours). It had essentially become a "freemium" type game with a $60 initiation fee. This will no longer be the case with Forza Motorsport 6.

According to a conversation between the game's development studio Turn10 and OXM magazine, Forza Motorsport 6 will be free of any microtransactions and will not launch with any cars locked behind a paywall.

"Everything is tuned for 'no tokens' at launch."

The OXM interview did not limit themselves to asking about the microtransactions and how we will be coming across vehicles, they reiterated the question only to be told "no," nothing would be locked away from the hands of players.

"The number of cars is 450. Are they available at launch?"

"At launch, yep. On disc."

"Nothing's locked behind DLC, at this stage?"

"No. No."

There you have it folks, looks like Turn10 found out that people had a tough time swallowing microtransactions.
