Free-to-play Ace Combat Infinity coming to PS3

Ace Combat Infinity, the first free-to-play game in Namco Bandai's Ace Combat series, has been announced for release exclusively on the PlayStation 3 in late 2013. The game will feature a "brand new story campaign and team co-op multiplayer."

“The Ace Combat franchise has set the gold standard in both graphics and dog-fighting dynamics for flight combat video games throughout its long running history,” said Chris Gilbert, Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Namco Bandai Games America Inc. “The Project Aces team has crafted a Free-to-Play experience within Ace Combat Infinity that will allow gamers to enjoy high flying aerial warfare like never before.”

Gameplay will consist largely of the same mechanics traditionally used in the series, combining a "near future world setting with elements that have resonated with fans from previous Ace Combat titles." This includes super-weapons and hyper-realistic visuals. Multiplayer will pit two teams of up to four pilots in a competition to inflict the most damage on a common enemy.

Look out for Ace Combat Infinityin the latter part of 2013 for PS3. With Sony seemingly investing in free-to-play titles, would you want to see this on the PS4 as well?
