Freedom Planet coming to Wii U on August 13

Galaxy Trail's answer to Sonic the Hedgehog was originally to release on the Wii U eShop this week, but the team announced last week that Freedom Planet had to be delayed due to underestimated time constraints. However, freedom fighters can now unite knowing that Freedom Planet has just been given a new date for its Wii U release.

The developer announced today on Twitter that August 13 is when Sonic fans and general fans of blistering gameplay will prepare to have their heads spin, as part of an energetic platforming experience that took three years to make. You may recall that the game was one of several titles part of Nintendo's Nindies@Home program during E3 2015, meaning that if you downloaded the demo during that period (before June 23) will get to purchase the full game at a launch discount of 15% off.

This is one fight for freedom that is sure to have a happy ending.
