Ever wonder why Princess Peach's dress never gets dirty, even when she's held captive in Bowser's filthy dungeons? Or what about Yoshi's real name?
Thanks to Blake Harris, author of Console Wars, the world's most puzzling questions have now been answered. Harris has spent part of the last day sharing fun facts from a 1993 character guide published by Nintendo to help licensors and other companies properly use their characters.
Among the details shared is the fact that Princess Peach "wields the power of white magic which, apart from being the only hope for the reanimation of the Mushroom people, keeps her elegant gowns starched and clean even in Bowser's dark and filthy dungeon."
Also Bowser has no friends. "His evil magic is powerful, but that has not helped Bowser make friends," the excerpt reads. "The fact is, even the other Koopa's hate and fear him." He also decided to conquer the Mushroom Kingdom because he can't stand the idea of happy fungi.
Meanwhile, Yoshi's full name is T. Yoshisaur Munchakoopas.
And Mario, he's categorized as "Homo Ninendonus" who "has seen too many things in his travels to be narrow-minded." He's also adventurous, brave, curious, and resourcesful. You probably knew all that, but here's why Nintendo says he's all of that.
