Future Horizon: Zero Dawn games may feature different protagonists

But Aloy will always be around in some capacity.

Horizon: Zero Dawn hasn't even released but (unsurprisingly) some are already talking about the franchise's future. Yes, it would appear that Horizon: Zero Dawn is not a one-and-done deal as Guerrilla Games has committed a lot of time and resources to crafting what has been revealed to be a stellar game. Game Reactor got a chance to speak with Guerrilla's senior producer Angela Gillespie who dropped a hint that we may see other characters get time to shine in future Horizon games.

She said:

"I think Aloy will always be a part of Horizon: Zero Dawn, but as you might have seen, there is a big number of characters and tribes in the game, and we have a rich history.

We spent years developing these tribes, so there is a possibility for other characters in the future, but Aloy will always remain in Horizon: Zero Dawn."
One would think that Aloy would at the very least star in a prospective trilogy given all of the attention that has been brought to the character. But other big games under the PlayStation banner like The Last of Us have switched gears on their protagonists, so stranger things have happened.

Horizon: Zero Dawn releases in full next week on February 28th, 2017.
