Games with Gold: Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light now available on Xbox 360 for free

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is now available for free on Xbox 360 as part of Microsoft's free Games with Gold offerings for January. Normally $14.99, Xbox LIVE Gold Members have until January 31 to download it for no cost.

Released in August 2010, Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light follows Lara as she goes in search of the Mirror of Smoke, an ancient artifact located in a ruin known as the Temple of Light. Lara is joined by Totec, an ancient hero released alongside a mysterious ancient evil. Together, the two set off in a top-down run-'n'-gun adventure. Below is the official description of the game.

Team up with a friend or go at it alone as you traverse and solve deadly traps, fight hordes of undead enemies, and collect over 60 artifacts and relics.  “Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light” offers fast-paced action and breathtaking visuals shown through an isometric view.

At the time of release, GameZone scored the game an impressive 8/10. Whether or not Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light stands the test of time remains to be seen; but, for the cost of absolutely nothing, it's at least worth checking out. You can download Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light at the Xbox Game Store.
