Those searching for an Xbox One on Black Friday may be out of luck, as the the retailer confirmed today its stores will have "very limited" stock of Microsoft's next-gen item. GameStop is the world's largest video game retailer, so if they don't have it, there's a good chance most of the others won't either.
Having said that, there is a small chance you can hop into your local GameStop retail store and find an Xbox One. Speaking to GameSpot, a representative told the site that shoppers should call their local store first to ask about availability. Hey, even "very limited" means there's a chance!
Xbox One is currently sold out through GameStop's website, as well as on Amazon, Best Buy, and Microsoft Stores. Microsoft's next-gen system released last Friday in 13 markets around the world. More than one million Xbox One consoles were sold in the first day alone. Heading into the holiday season, I think your best bet would be to simply check in person as websites may be slower to update with stock. There's also eBay if you don't mind paying a little extra.
Earlier today, GameStop also announced its lineup of Black Friday deals which includes Battlefield 4 for $25 and Xbox 360 and PS3 bundles for just $199 each.
