AOC is well-known for their TVs, multi-functional displays, and most importantly their gaming monitors. Today, the company announced a new 24" gaming monitor, the AOC G2460PQU.
The AOC G2460PQU comes with multiple features that make it more than just another monitor, but let's focus on the basics first. This monitor has a refresh rate of 144Hz, and a response time of 1ms — which is absolutely needed for PC gaming. Like I said, it's a 24-inch screen with up to 16.7 million colors, but I have a hard time noticing colors past 16.6 million. Also, the maximum resolution is 1920×1080, so you'll be able to play every game in beautiful HD.
The G2460PQU also lets you switch between seven different screen sizes: 17" Pillar Box (5:4), 19” Pillar Box (5:4), 19” Widescreen (16:10), 21.5” Widescreen (16:9), 22” Widescreen (16:10), 23” Widescreen (16:9) and 24” Widescreen (16:9). I usually just run dual monitors at 24" Widescreen 16:9, but my PC battlestation isn't as advanced as some other members of the PC master race.
Some other features that gamers might find helpful are that the monitor is wall-mountable, comes with HDMI, Display Port, DVI-Dual Link, VGA, and four USB 2.0 ports. The USB hub also has a fast-charging port for mobile devices that's three times faster than standard USB ports. I can't tell you how fast it will charge your iPhone/Android from 1% without trying it, though. The monitor features a four-way adjustable stand, so gamers can swivel it, change the monitor height, tilt the screen and pivot 90 degrees.
The AOC G2460PQU is now available for $399.99 at nation CE retailers. For more information, you can visit the AOC website.
