This weekend, over on GOG, the DRM-free digital games retailer is having a different kind of sale called Piñata Madness. The way it works is that you pay three dollars for a digital piñata which you crack open for a code to a random game, ranging in value from $5.99 to $44.99, so no matter what, you are getting a deal. That said, you don't get to pick the game that you get, so if you get a code for a game you already have, you're stuck with it.
However, in the interest of increasing your odds, GOG has added some new games to the stockpile of 100+ mystery games. These games include SWAT 4: Gold Edition, Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition 1 & 2, Wasteland 2: Director’s Cut, This War of Mine, Banished, Homeworld: Remastered, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines, and NEO Scavenger.
If you don't feel like taking a chance, there are other games on sale this weekend as well including Darkest Dungeon, Shadow Warrior 2, and Shadowrun: Hong Kong. These games are, however, a little bit more expensive, but at least you'll know what you're getting.
GOG's Piñata Madness runs until Monday, August 21st at 9:59 PM UTC.
