Grand Theft Auto 5's mysterious multiplayer mode — Grand Theft Auto Online — was briefly teased at the end of today's gameplay video. Although no actual details were announced, it gave us a very short look at what to expect — chaos. Lots of chaos.
It's hard to make out exactly what's going on, but I counted about 14-or-so other players partaking in all sorts of activities while one watches from a skyscraper above. You can watch exactly the part I'm talking about below (at the 4:30 second mark).
What we know for certain is that GTA 5 will make use of its multiplayer crews, groups of players that can join up via the Social Club — Rockstar's online service — that provide benefits both in-game and out. These crews allow for more drama-filled multiplayer experiences, according to Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser. He is also the same man who late last year promised GTA 5's multiplayer will be "one of the best" Rockstar has delivered, featuring the "most comprehensive package and the best set of things you can do and ways you can organize to make it compelling."
With only a 10-second look at multiplayer, it's hard to judge if what Houser said holds true, but Rockstar has promised more details soon. What do you hope to see from Grand Theft Auto Online?
