Take-Two Interactive's earnings report revealed that the last quarter, which ended on June 30, had Rockstar and 2K Games shipping out games left and right. While shipping games doesn't exactly translate to game's sold, Take-Two saw their revenue rise 142% thanks to these two game developers.
Grand Theft Auto V alone shipped 54 million copies worldwide, up from the 52 million report from three months ago. Backtracking even more, GTA 5 topped $800 million in sales in just one day, later going on to set a new record as the fastest game to surpass $1 billion in sales.
Besides GTA 5, GTA Online NBA 2K15, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and WWE 2K15 were the biggest items that brought Take-Two's revenue up (that means tons of people are spending money in GTA Online). So, with Take-Two's revenue going up 142%, that puts them at $366.4 million, up from $151.6 million during the same quarter last year.
