GTA 5 Ships 75 Million Copies, NBA 2K17 Hits 7 Million

Today, Take-Two reported its earnings from last quarter, which ended December 31, and the numbers are looking good.

Take-Two announced new shipment numbers for Mafia III (5 million units) and Civilization VI  (1.5 million units). These numbers reflect units shipped to stores, not necessarily sold to consumers, and doesn't take into account digital distribution.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick announced that Grand Theft Auto V had shipped an astonishing 75 million copies. NBA 2K17 has also shipped 7 million units, which is 10% above 2K16. The new title is set up to be the highest selling 2K sports game.

In terms of dollars, Take-Two has pulled in $476.5 million in revenue with GTA V, GTA Online, WWE 2K17, NBA 2K17 and Civilization VI being the main breadwinners for the period.

Digital revenue rose 64% to $240.2 million, up from $146.5 million. Overall, Take-Two posted a loss of $29,8 million for the quarter, which is actually up from last year's $42.4 million loss.

As stated previously, Take-Two made a good haul this past quarter. Take-Two has also shown interest in the Nintendo Switch, which could lead to future potential.
